The Jardin del Turia, TURIA´S OLD RIVERBED, is an urban park open to the public that covers about 110 hectares; located in the city of Valencia. An open space where nature and sport complement each other at the service of citizens. It is one of the most visited parks in Valencia and Spain. The largest purely urban garden in the country,
with an approximate length of 9 kilometers
from the northwest to the southeast .

The beginning:

It all started with the Great Flood of Valencia that took place on October 14, 1957. The rains overflowed the water of the Turia River and flooded much of the city. The street of Las Barcas, next to the Town Hall, owes its name to the Riada since it served as a berth for the boats.
